Dewayne Tapscott is the minister of Southwest Church Of Christ in Huntsville, Al. He is married to Tera with four children (Skylar, Kyle, Brianne, & Bricen). Dewayne started preaching the Gospel in 1995 at the age of 23 under the mentorship of Dr. Harold Gilmore, at the Moulton Heights Church of Christ, Decatur Al. for twelve years. Dewayne also did Prison Ministry for twelve years at the Limestone Correctional Facility.

Dewayne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from Heritage Christian University (formerly International Bible College) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Athens State University.

Chase Park accepted the Mission work of Southwest around the middle of 2007 to current. SW had acquired an old condemned 2 bedroom house and with the support from Chase Park church of Christ, it was converted into a church building.

Southwest is located in a transient area where People are constantly moving in and out of the area on a quarterly basis.
